I have taken in a 4 month old ragdoll kitten that had been re homed in good health and was now blind in one eye.I expected a green gunky eye, or a cloudy eye, but nothing could prepare me for what I saw .
The poor boys eye was hanging out so badly swollen and green and the smell I will never forget.I did not meet the owners directly, he was collected via someone else no imformation or contact details are given during the rescue at all, or belive me they would pay.
I saw the boy at 5pm yesterday when I saw him I said ahh hes stunning then he turned and looked at me I was horrified at what I saw my reply was Fucking hell this eye needs to come out today, goose pimples ran down my whole body !!.I rang my vet and they prepared for him coming in and I was over an hour away.
I went in to the vets Colin Cunnings was working alone as Erica had gone home.Colin imedialty put some local aneicetic in his eye to help with the pain. The huge abcess had bust during his journey to the vet.I felt so emotional inside for this baby but had to keep strong to nurse him through this
he underwent almost a 2 hour operation to remove they eye.I stayed there waiting and praying for him.
This little man pulled through and I was with him when he came around from the anisetic , his little face was covered with blood but to me he was the most pretty little baby.
I took him home put him on my bed, placed him on a heat pad and a new vet bed covered him over with a towel and my heat pad only for a little while as he was cold as they always are after anithestic , but we dont normally see this as they are at the vets for a few hours to recover first, if it wasnt for my experience he would have gone home with the vet.I sat beside him for a few hours stroking him and giving him lots of re assurance, as tears rolled down my cheeks.
HOW COULD ANYONE LET THIS HAPPEN
The pain this baby must have gone through.Eventually he started to come around and started to purr for England !!!.This brave little boy had reached a turning point.I fed him via a syringe with some liquvite and he did so well that I put some in a bowl for him.he has stayed beside me all night he has done very well, he is eating, drinking and has used his litter tray.Click on the link below to see a video
Saurday 30th july
This has made me feel very immotional this morning as I cant get the smell and sight of the rotten eye out of my mindThe vet said as i thought the eye had been pierced, via another cat possibly it had been left, got infected, blown in to a huge abccess and in to the loss of an eye when this could have been avoided from the start.
I will continue to provide hands on care for this baby around the clock, he has had a 3 day long lasting painkilling injection, and starts anti biotics today.I dont think I can bear to re home him so at the moment hes staying here.
Any help you can offer would be so much appreciated
If you would like to make a donation toward the huge vet bill this would help this baby so much the rescue account details are
First of all I would like to thank all the kind people who have sent donations to help this boy this is so very much appreciated.this little boy is feeling alot better now, He is in my bedroom away from all of the other cats and I have spent all my spare time with him.
He has to wear a buster collar as he is scratching his wound when Im with him I take it off. Here are a few pics taken this morning his face is a bit pink from the blood staining and bruising has come out this morning bless him around his eye.
pics taken on Wednesday
Stitches removed today vet is happy with him he has to go back in
2 weeks to have it checked have decided to call him RAZZLE
Woke at 5am this morning to find Razzle covered in blood
I put him on my knee and cleaned him up the eye is bleeding from near his nose.I have put a buster collar on him, and I thought as blood is getting out infection could get in so I have stated him on anti biotics noraclav straight away will take him to the vet at 8.45 soon as they open.
Back from the vet, needs to be on anti biotics as I thought also needs the buster collar on for about 2 weeks, will take it off when im with him so he can groom himself. The vet says this can be a problem area to heal so will be watching him closely.
Back to the vet as the wound wont heal and its gone in to a hole.Razzle has had to have 2 stitches in his eye and needs to be on anti biotics again.
I have been away for 4 days as my daughter was married on saturday,Razzle came with me.We all went to the hair dressers 8am saturday morning on my return I found Razzles eye bleeding and a huge hole He has had his buster collar on the whole time
Khaled my husband took him to my daughters vet, who was very rude and sain there was nothing she could really do.I had taken anti biotics just in case I needed them and had given him a dose straight away.Khaled arrived back at 11.15am, the best man and groom were in a panic as Khaled had not picked them up !!! The wedding was at 12 pm.
I managed to patch his eye, I spoke to my Vet at 11.50am on the way in to the wedding service, she told me I had done the right thing with the patch and to keep him on anti biotics, also to put fucifelmac eye cream in the hole, but I didnt have any with me.Ahhhh
Anyway the wedding went well and we were not late.
I returned home yesterday morning, cleaned the eye out and put loads eye cream in it then have placed a dressing on top.
Due to razzles young age he now has not got enough tissue to re stitch the eye, so he is going in first thing in the morning to have a type of skin graft to cover the wound, or a different procedure .
This is costly so fingers crossed this works. This poor boy has been through the wars bless him but is still a purr box.I hope this is the last op he has to go through.
Back from the vet at 6pm razzle has had alot of stitches inside and out, and has come home with a 12.5cm collar its huge but he can still eat and drink ok its to protect the eye.My vet says I did well to keep infection away as the hole was big. This poor boy has had 3
ops in 4 weeks.Fingers crossed this time pic taken at 7pm
Razzle has been making good progress fingers crossed this will continue, I have had him 5 weeks and he eats like a horse !!

Razzle has lasted a week now without further injury, fingers crossed this will stay this way.I have had a few incidents where his collar has come off, one was this morning I went in the shower and when I came down it was off !!!!.Its such a worry, so I havent been out much at all as I need to stay with him as much as possible so I can stop this happening.Khaled my husband has been grate hes been doing all the shopping for us.Here is another video of him this morning
